1. Scope
This policy describes the SnipPage Chrome extension and the website at snippage.cc. SnipPage is published by SmartGuy.
2. Data processed by the extension
When you explicitly start a capture, SnipPage processes pixels from the active webpage and records the page title, source URL, capture time, dimensions, capture type, and any capture warnings needed to explain the result.
Your annotations, crops, project names, item text, next steps, report settings, and generated files are also processed when you use those features.
Captures, image blobs, annotations, projects, project items, captured DOM text maps, explicitly saved extracted text, and temporary image tiles are stored in the extension's local browser database. Small preferences and short-lived capture recovery details use Chrome extension storage. The start and last-seen times of the one-time Pro preview may use Chrome Sync when it is enabled in your profile; screenshots, webpage text, annotations, projects, and feature histories never use Sync.
Smart Text runs only when you press Extract text. It combines a bounded text map collected during capture with OCR performed by models and runtime files packaged in the extension. The screenshot, instruction, and extracted result remain local. DOM-derived text can preserve any Unicode script. Bitmap OCR is verified for English and Simplified Chinese; unsupported scripts, including Hebrew and Arabic in pixels, may be inaccurate.
3. How data is used and shared
SnipPage uses this information only to provide the capture, editing, local text extraction, project, image export, and PDF report features you request.
- No screenshot, annotation, project, logo, or report is uploaded automatically. Send to Gmail places only the selected local export into a new user-controlled Gmail draft.
- No SnipPage account, analytics, advertising, telemetry, crash-reporting, or SnipPage-operated cloud storage is included. Chrome Sync may carry only the small Pro-preview record when you have enabled it.
- SmartGuy does not sell, rent, or share extension data with advertisers or data brokers.
- All executable extension code is included in the installed package; remotely hosted code is not used.
If you choose a paid plan, the checkout link sends the information you enter at checkout (such as name, email, billing address, tax details, and payment data) directly to Lemon Squeezy, the merchant of record. SmartGuy does not receive or store full payment-card data. Lemon Squeezy processes that information under its privacy policy and sends SnipPage only the order, subscription, and license information needed to provide support and activate the paid entitlement. When you explicitly activate, validate, or deactivate a license in SnipPage, the extension sends only the license key and this browser's activation identifier to the SnipPage activation endpoint over HTTPS; screenshots, page text, URLs, projects, payment details, and mailbox data are never sent.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use disclosure
SnipPage's use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Extension data is used only to provide or improve the capture, editing, project, and export features you request. It is not used for advertising, creditworthiness, lending, or an unrelated purpose; it is not sold; and it is not made available for human reading unless you deliberately send specific material to support or disclosure is required for security or legal reasons.
The website has no contact form, advertising tracker, analytics script, or cookie set by SmartGuy. Website hosting infrastructure may process standard request information, such as IP address and user agent, to deliver and protect the pages.
4. Chrome permissions
SnipPage does not request persistent access to all websites, browsing history, downloads, or identity. Optional host access is requested only for an origin you select for URL-list capture, snippage.cc after an explicit Pro activation action, a pinned font or OCR asset source, or mail.google.com after you invoke Send to Gmail.
5. Retention, deletion, and security
Local work remains in that Chrome profile until it is removed through available product or browser controls, the extension's browser data is cleared, or the extension is uninstalled. Saved Captures can permanently remove a capture that is not used by a project. Deleting a project removes that project and its item organization but intentionally preserves the underlying captures. Interrupted temporary capture tiles older than 24 hours are eligible for automatic cleanup.
Secure Redact replaces covered export pixels with an opaque solid fill. Pixelate is a visual effect and is not secure redaction. Users should review every exported file before sharing it.
6. Contact and policy changes
Questions about this policy can be sent to support@snippage.cc.
Because SnipPage does not operate an account or capture-upload service, SmartGuy cannot retrieve extension content stored only in your browser. If this product's data practices change, this page will be updated before the change is released.
